“You have to take risks. We will only understand the miracle of life fully when we allow the unexpected to happen.” – Paulo Coelho
I was sitting in my garden this weekend and got a pleasant surprise. Through the cracks in the patio there were flowers growing. Not the usual weeds but stunning pansies.
Some people would see the pansies growing in the patio, feel cross and out of control.
Why are the flowers not in the flower bed?
How frustrating that the pretty things are not where they are supposed to be.
Should I pick them as they are in an awkward place, or leave them be (where their presence will frustrate me every time I see them?)
Others would be puzzled.
Where are the weeds?
Why has this flower suddenly sprung up here?
Are there more on the way?

I was happy, felt at one with the world and thought how beautiful that a flower can grow anywhere it wants to.

With my pansies – as with life – I choose to look on the sunny side of life.
I choose to see the flowers as beautiful.
I choose to see them growing in my patio as being a miracle.
I spent quite a long time looking at them, appreciating them and feeling grateful for my garden and the wonders therein.
As a keen gardener, I decided to save the pansy seeds and plant them in my flower beds so their beauty will live on next summer.
“Today’s seeds are tomorrow’s flowers” I thought, as I gathered them up.
Can you use this approach in your life?
What could develop if you appreciate the unexpected and see it as an opportunity?
Can you see a silver lining through adversity?
Can you keep on the sunny side of life?
